FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT GOLF COURSE LOGO BALLS

Q.  Where did all these balls come from?  Have you been buying them in your travels?

A.  No, one of the rules of the game is that Pono is not allowed to buy logo balls.  Some are gifts, but most of them have been found on Maui golf courses.  Pono has found the majority of them, but he has agents who are always on the lookout.  Pono trades spares, extras, and non-logos to his agents.  Hawai'i is a perfect place for this endeavor, since tourists come here from all over the world and lose balls from their home area.  (As of 8/7/2000, Pono admits to having purchased TWO logo golf balls.  One is the Swedish flag on the home page, and the other is the Wisconsin logo ball shown here.)

Q.  Pono, where are you going with this hobby?

A.  Pono admits to having asked this same question.  His answer is "Hey, it's cheap, it's fun, it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars, and maybe gives someone who visits the web site a few minutes of pleasure, so what the heck! At my age, I only have 35 or 40 more years, so let's see what happens."

Q. What is that EPGCC ball under Alberta, Canada?

A. That ball came from the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club in Alberta.

Q.  How do you know where all these balls came from?

A.  The short answer: Internet knows everything.  The longer answer: There are several sites that list golf courses, and when all of them fail, a search for the course by name often works.  There are, however, a number of courses that Pono hasn't found anywhere.  Maybe they should be posted for help from you folks.
