DERBY LANE COTTAGES

JR Sandin (Pono’s son) and Courtney Bittenbring have acquired a delightful property in Bar Harbor, Maine, and are offering it for occupancy year around.  This is a picture of the property, but many more pictures and details are available on their website – http://www.derbylanecottage.com.  Yes, I know, this is very like a commercial, but, hey, this is my son!

JR and Courtney invite you to embark on a delightful vacation surrounded by all the best that Bar Harbor has to offer.  Within steps of these quaint cottages are Frenchman Bay, the famous Shore Path, the Village Green (where you can catch Acadia National Park's free bus service), and downtown Bar Harbor, with its shops, restaurants, and recreation.

These attached-but-distinct properties were at one time totally separate houses.  At some point in their 120+ year history the Arbor House was moved by a team of horses and married to the Stork's Nest.  The union yielded a remarkably comfortable situation that allows more than one family to enjoy one of Bar Harbor's best addresses, yet provides privacy and "front porch" charm for each.  Both houses are fully equipped for your vacation.  Each has a cute and comfortable "beach house" decor, ample parking, wireless internet access, and its own washer and dryer, grill, and yard.

The Arbor House has a lovely front porch with rockers to relax on, two bedrooms (twin beds in one, queen bed in the other), a full bath, roomy kitchen/dining/living area (with queen sleeper sofa), deck and split-rail fenced yard.  There are books, games and cable TV with VCR for down time between all the things you'll find to do outside.

The Stork's Nest (so-called because the house was a maternity hospital a long, long time ago) has 4 bedrooms (master with queen bed and full bath, #2 with queen bed, #3 with full bed, and #4 with twin beds), an upstairs hall bath, parlor, great-room/kitchen/dining/living area with books, games, cable TV and VCR for your indoor pleasure. There is a deck for alfresco dining and a yard for frisbee or sunbathing.
